SVHS registration underway

Registering for a fall sport at Sonoma Valley High begins this month, and the process is entirely online at AthleticClearance.com. In addition, the school has announced starting dates for Fall/Winter 2019-20 sports, including football (all levels) where practice is already in progress; other fall sports (cross country, girls golf, girls tennis, volleyball and water polo), are beginning tryouts and practice.

Baseball at the Museum

The Sonoma Valley Historical Society is putting together an exhibit to open mid-September on “Baseball in the Valley,” documenting the long and deep history here if both amateur and professional play. They are looking for photos, stories and even “stuff” for the show, including from kids, women and girls teams. Photos will be copied and returned. Girls on the Run

Registration is now open for the “Girls on the Run” season from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley. Girls on the Run is a 10-week after-school program that empowers girls in 3rd to 8th grade to make friends, increase their physical activity levels, and learn important life skills. The season will start the week of Sept. 16 and will end with a 5K race on Dec. 8. CYO Basketball registration

Registration for the 2019-2020 St. Francis CYO Basketball program is now open for boys and girls, grades 3 through 8, until Sept. 6 or the roster is full. The program is run on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of the St. Francis parish. Registration is not considered complete until full payment is received. Coaches and assistant coaches who are willing to volunteer their time for this program are also needed. Player and coach registration online at stfranciscyobasketball.sportngin.com.

Boys basketball at B&GC

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley have opened the registration for their Boys Basketball league, which is open to players in 3rd to 8th grade. Season runs from Aug. 25 to Nov. 1, 2019. Fee is $150 per player, plus $25 membership fee, scholarships available. For more information visit bgcsonoma.org.
