Sonoma Valley High School senior Jessica Haro is offering a free soccer camp for ages 8 to 12 on March 23, and for ages 13 to 17 on March 30, as part of her senior project.

Haro has been playing soccer for 14 years, and she now plays at a local premier-level club. She will be coaching but will also be joined by her club coach and several SVHS players.

Her senior project research paper focused on whether or not football is too dangerous for kids to play. Her project mentor is Creekside teacher Walt Williams.

“I love the beautiful game that is soccer and it’s something I love to spend my time doing,” she says. “I’ve never run a camp myself, but I have helped at other camps before and I’ve been to college camps.”

Both camps are from 8 to 11 a.m. Haro can be reached by email at, or by text at 774-5782. Provide the child’s name, the child’s age, a way to contact the parent or guardian, any severe allergies or asthma, and she will provide a parental consent form.
