Five grapplers eyeing NCS meet in Newark

Could move on to the state meet March 4-5|

Five members of the Sonoma Valley High Dragon wrestling team will be participating in the North Coast Section meet today (Friday) and Saturday at Newark Memorial High School.

Three of them, junior Noah Bartolome, junior Dominick Biaggi and freshman Tyler Winslow, qualified by winning their weight classes last Saturday in the Sonoma County League meet. Bartolome qualified in the 184-pound class, Biaggi in the 147-pound class and Winslow in the 162-pound class. Freshmen Macklyn Liss and Ryan Sherwood also qualified for the NCS by finishing third in their weight classes. Liss wrestles at 115 pounds while Sherwood wrestles at 134 pounds.

The five will be wrestling to go to the State Boys Wrestling Championships that will be held March 4 and 5, at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.
