Does your child want to learn how to cook? Sonoma Valley Regional Library is partnering with the Ceres project to host a cooking class for children in grades 1-3 at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 9.

Kids Can Cook is a hands-on cooking class designed to teach children how to make healthful snacks and meals. They will learn how “eating the rainbow” is fun and delicious.

The Ceres Project is based in Santa Rosa. It supports primarily low-income people who are struggling because of a serious health challenge with free and low-cost, home-delivered, nourishing organic meals, nutrition education and the caring support of the community. Research shows healthy meal support is a low-cost “upstream” investment that significantly improves health outcomes and lowers health care costs. Their program reduces social isolation and leads to significant long-term changes in eating habits.

Space is limited. Registration is available online at sonomalibrary.org under “events,” by calling the library at 996-5217, or stopping by at 755 W. Napa St. Visit ceresproject.org.
