Students embrace PLUS program at Sonoma Valley High

Student-led forums tackle connectedness and communication|

Sonoma Valley High School’s new Peer Leaders Uniting Students (PLUS) program involves the entire student body in helping to promote positive school culture, connectedness and inclusion.

PLUS student forums and activities build student leadership and promote connection, communication, relations and participation with the goal of helping to feel safe, to feel like they belong and to promote motivation and resilience.

Staff and student training has taken place throughout the winter, facilitated by John Vandenberg, the founder of PLUS. The next student forum is scheduled for later this month.

More than 40 students who represent a diverse cross section of student leaders will facilitate a series of activities aimed at improving communication, connections, care and community among the student body. plusprogram.org.
