Back to School: career talk with alumni

Students on the Olympus and Mauna Kea freshman teams at Sonoma Valley High got a head start on career planning this month when more than a dozen visitors came to campus to present to classes on different career options. The career exploration day was organized by Sallie Moore (left) of the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation Teacher Support Network, who was joined by alums Andrew Ryan (vice principal), Artie Phillips (firefighter), Sal Chavez (restaurant owner) and Steve Sangiacomo (vineyard owner), as well as a handful of other alumni and volunteers from the community. – Lorna Sheridan
