Can hip-hop be therapeutic for Sonoma teens?

Kline and Scott will talk about how they engage teens and young adults in their own empowerment and healing through hip hop.|

The Hanna Institute is hosting “Rhythmic Mind: Therapeutic Hip Hop” with founders Max Kline and Jonah Scott.

Rhythmic Mind is a hip-hop therapy program and nonprofit serving at-risk teens and transitional age youth in the greater Bay Area.

Kline and Scott will talk about how they engage teens and young adults in their own empowerment and healing through hip hop – and how they are reaching a demographic of kids that traditional therapy can’t reach – through lyric writing and beat production.

The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Hanna, 17000 Arnold Drive. Tickets are the $20 general admission and $10 for students.
