Free healthy cooking classes in Sonoma

Sonoma Valley Community Health Center (SVCHC) will host monthly Ceres Community Project healthy cooking classes. These classes are part of the Ceres Nutrition for Wellness Program.

Ceres nutritionists will teach classes that will focus on the following four themes: Heart health, managing your sugar, supporting your digestion and de-stressing your life.

Classes will be available in English and Spanish. Spanish classes will be on third Wednesdays and English classes on the fourth Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. in the SVCHC community classroom. Each class includes a lecture and hands-on cooking session.

The first class, at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, will focus on the best fats for heart health.

Teens accompanied by a parent are welcome.
