Sonoma Valley High School’s Link Crew attended a Student Link Conference in Vacaville hosted by the Boomerang Project.

The Boomerang Project is a company that provides high school and middle school orientation and transition programs, teacher training and useful personal and professional development resources.

At this forum, Link Crew leaders from all over gathered to explore new ways to help freshmen, according to vice principal Jessica Hutchinson.

“It helps the Link Leaders develop leadership skills and learn ways that we can make connections with the freshmen and on campus to fellow peers,” said Hutchinson.

Mayra Torres, a current Link Crew leader, helped request and secure funding last year for SVHS to participate this year, thanks to a foundation grant. She also organized a recent Capture the Flag event for Freshmen Teams and is now organizing a Holiday Hallway event for freshmen.
