Sonoma Valley students are headed to the JC!

Sonoma Valley High School hosted Santa Rosa Junior College application workshops last week and 90 seniors completed their paperwork to enroll in classes at the community college after graduation.

Over the course of two days, SVHS hosted a total of six application workshops. Students were also invited to specific sessions based on their individual needs, including a workshop that included staff from the SRJC Disability Resource Department (DRD) for students with IEPs and 504s, and a workshop presented in Spanish for English language learners.

“We had a fantastic turnout, and students were focused on the presenters and completing their applications in each session,” said SVHS counselor Kalia Gurnee.

If any students missed their session, they will have an opportunity to attend a make-up day and the College & Career Center and counselors are also available to help.

Up next, students will be urged to register for a half-unit orientation class that is offered in the spring and the counseling office will be helping students to register for their fall classes.
