Mark William Hubenette of Kenwood died on June 29 after a long battle with cystic fibrosis. He was 47.

Hubenette was born on Aug. 11, 1971, in Santa Rosa and attended Kenwood School, Pacific Grove Middle School, Slater Middle School, Montgomery High School and Sacramento State University.

Hubenette worked as a park ranger at Lake Berryessa, a disaster assessment inspector for FEMA, and was active in the family construction business. Most recently, he was a volunteer for the Sonoma County Search and Rescue Team.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Quan Hubenette, his parents William Hubenette and Patricia Dickey of Kenwood; and his brothers Robert Hubenette of Santa Rosa and Kevin Shrout of Palatine, Illinois.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Quail Inn at Oakmont Golf Club, 7025 Oakmont Drive in Santa Rosa.

In lieu of flowers, the Hubenette Family is suggesting donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Northern California or Pets Lifeline. The Hubenette family also encourages registering as an organ donor, so others will have the opportunity for a “second gift of life.”
