Glider crashes in Schellville

May have ‘overshot runway’ at Sonoma airport, say deputies; pilot has minor injuries.|

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene Friday, May 3 at 1:45 p.m. at Eighth Street East near Knolle Brothers Road in Schellville, where a glider crashed at the base of a grove of trees at the side of the road. According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office there was one person on board with minor injuries. The street was closed in both directions for an undetermined period of time to clear debris from the road. FAA will be investigating the crash.
