Sonoma Valley High School’s Grad Night was instituted to prevent drunk driving and potential fatalities on Graduation Day and night.

The grad night event at SVHS begins at 9 p.m. on June 7 this year (the evening of the ceremonies), and is an all-night event, filled with fun activities, games and prizes to engage and celebrate SVHS graduates. The event lets out at 5 a.m., but not before a car is given away to one lucky graduate.

According to event team member Caroline Brown Sheldon, the goal is 100 percent participation of the expected 260 graduating seniors.

Tickets are $55 for the all-night food, fun and games event, and scholarships are available.

Parents who are interested in helping out with the event or local businesses who might be able to donate items can contact either Stacey Schoeningh, or 227-6285, or Renea Magnani, or 337-9770.
