Sonoma Police deputies responded Monday to the report of a physical assault at Depot Park.

At around 1 p.m. on Feb. 11, the victim called 9-1-1 reporting he had just been attacked by a male named Seamus, according to the police report. The victim requested an ambulance and stated he was bleeding after being punched and kicked by the suspect.

The victim provided a description and indicated that the suspect had left on foot toward the Sonoma Plaza. Sonoma Police deputies canvassed the area while the victim received emergency medical treatment at the scene from Sonoma Valley paramedics.

A deputy located a male subject walking through the Safeway parking lot off Second Street West who matched the description provided by the victim. The suspect ran, cutting through traffic across West Napa Street, into the parking lot of Sonoma Market, and ultimately surrendered to deputies in the area of West Napa Street and Fifth Street West.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Sonoma Valley Hospital where he was medically treated for multiple facial injuries, hand injuries and contusions. He has since been released from the hospital.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Seamus Glennon of Sonoma. Glennon was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
