The Addams Family on stage at SVHS
“This play is a spoof, very sunny and light, but we also found real heart in it,” says “Addams Family” director Jane Martin. “The theme for us is about love of family, and how - though we may be different - we still care about the same things.”
Adapted from characters created in the 1940s by New Yorker cartoonist Charles Addams, “The Addams Family” musical was adapted for the stage by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.
The sets are elaborate, designed by Jane Martin, teacher Drew Jacobs and painter Morgan McClelland. The musical director is Pat Bonnoitt. Choreography was created and directed by Kate Leland.
The Sonoma Valley High School production opened last weekend and it runs on the Little Theater stage through Sunday, Feb. 10.
