Public meeting on Sonoma Valley High School field project on Jan. 28
The Sonoma Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) will be updating the fields at Sonoma Valley High School. The district has determined that an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is the appropriate level of environmental review for the project and is seeking input from local agencies and the general public as to the content of the EIR.
The first meeting is set for 6 p.m. on Monday. Jan. 28.
The project includes renovations to the existing Sonoma Valley High School track and field, baseball/softball fields, and basketball courts. Renovations include: removal of the existing track and field; installation of a new all-weather track and an all-weather synthetic turf field; installation of new seating and viewing areas; construction of several small buildings to house team rooms, storage, restrooms, ticket sales, and concessions; new sports lighting at the track and field; and relocation and renovation of all existing softball and baseball fields.
The Scoping Meeting is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sonoma Valley High School, Pavillion (Multi-Use Building), on Monday, Jan. 28 at 20000 Broadway.
The public can hear presentations by SVUSD staff and the environmental consulting firm that will prepare the EIR. Written comments also will be accepted after the scoping meeting through the end of the scoping period on Feb. 15, at 5 p.m.
