Thanksgiving week camps in Sonoma

Two options include gymnastics and nature.|

Thanksgiving break is coming up and there are two local options to help amuse children on the days off from school.

Sonoma Gymnastics is offering half-day, full-day or after-care camps on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 19-21. Spots can be booked online or by calling 343-1402. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 4 and up. www.sonomagymnasticsacademy.com.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is also offering a camp for ages 7 to 12 next week. The day will include a nature hike and learning about the creatures of the park. Campers will end the day with s'mores and hot chocolate. The camp will be based out of the Visitors Center. The camp is only offered on Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Visitors Center, and advance reservations are required. The cost is $40. www.sugarloafpark.org.

In Santa Rosa, there is a crafts, nature, and fun camp on Nov. 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Environmental Discovery Center at Spring Lake Regional Park. Campers will hike, create art, play games, and hear stories of the harvest. Each camper will create a nature-themed craft perfect for holiday gift giving. Sign up for one day or both days!
