Police were searching for two men suspected of robbing a student at gunpoint at the Santa Rosa Junior College Thursday night.

The female student told police she had just finished class around 8:14 p.m. when two men approached her from behind near the southeast side of Bech Hall on the Santa Rosa campus.

One of the men grabbed her by her sleeve and she tried to pull away, police reported. He then pointed a black handgun at her back and demanded she “give him what she had.”

She gave the man with the gun money from her backpack. He pushed her toward nearby bushes and the two men left on foot, possibly on the pathway between Lark Hall and Baker Hall, police said.

Three officers arrived within a minute of the student's call and searched the area, but did not find the suspects.

The man with a handgun was described as having a medium build and possibly wearing a "gold chain" necklace. The other man was about 6 feet tall and heavyset. Both men wore dark hooded sweatshirts and had dark complexions, according to the student's report.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Rosa Junior College Police Department at 707-527-1000.
