The candidates for the Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees will participate in a forum from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Springs Community Hall. This free event is sponsored by the Latino Parent Coalition of Sonoma Valley and the Sonoma Valley Housing Group.

The forum will be held in Spanish and English.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and the forum will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The participating candidates include Melanie Blake, from the Flowery School attendance area, and Cathy Coleman and Omar Paz from the El Verano School area.

The candidates will answer questions from the Latino Parent Coalition, followed by questions from the public. There will also be informational tables for local ballot measures, as well as voter registration — and time to meet and greet the candidates after the questions.

The Springs Community Hall is located at 18627 Sonoma Highway.
