Forty-three students from the Sonoma Valley High School Agritechnology Academy harvested the 2018 crop of sauvignon blanc grapes at the high school vineyard before dawn on Sept. 20. Johannes Scheid from Schug Winery and Pat Stornetta from Leveroni Vineyards coordinated the harvest along with ag teachers Danny Aschwanden and Gayle Smith.

Scheid, winemaker at Schug Winery, and his wife Jennifer, will be handcrafting the 2018 vintage.

The Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance brought the Harvest Bell, which was rung with vigor to commemorate the 2018 harvest.
