Chat with Sonoma Valley High School principal Justin Mori

Justin Mori, the new principal at Sonoma Valley High School, held his first principal’s chat last Monday evening. He is alternating the monthly chats between evening and morning to provide options for parent schedules.

“The purpose is to provide open communication and give parents an opportunity to ask questions and bring up topics of interest or concern,” he said.

Mori described the first meeting as more of a get-to-know-you, where he discussed his background and experiences.

“I didn’t have a planned agenda to allow for a more questions and answers,” he said.

The topics covered included the advisory period, bathrooms, school safety, and phone/social media use and abuse.

Twenty parents attended the first gathering and he described the feedback as positive.

The next “Principal’s Chat” is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, in the SVHS library.
