Girls cycling gets rolling in Sonoma

Introductory fun ride in Marin set for Sept. 29|

A new Sonoma Valley co-ed teen cycling team is beginning to recruit members of all abilities to join the local NorCal cycling league.

A fun, free, introductory ride, focused on recruiting girls to the sport, will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 29, at China Camp State Park in Marin. Meet at the main entrance kiosk. It will end with lunch at China Camp. Bikes can be provided, if needed.

For more information and to register, visit www.norcalmtb.org/camps/#norcalgirls.

Local organizer Lisa Ziganti is promoting the introductory ride as a means of attracting teens to the sport of mountain biking. She is also working with Sonoma Valley High School to add mountain biking as a new club sport this year.

Interested teens can email Ziganti at lziganti@gmail.com.
