Budding Sonoma entrepreneurs visit local business Frenchie

Young students ask questions about running a small business.|

As part of Sonoma Academy of Dance and Arts’s Kids Entrepreneur Camp, the students visited the new Frenchie Picnic Provisions outpost on Broadway on Aug. 7 and learned the ins and outs of launching and running a small business from owner Sarah Pitkin. Sonoma Valley High School student and camp counselor Meg Jernigan accompanied the children to the store. The kids asked questions about expenses and profitability and how store owners come up with the right price for their products. On Friday, the same campers opened up their own shops at Burlingame Hall where they sold freshly made empanadas, popcorn, tie-dye shirts, jewelry, fortune telling, paper airplanes, lemonade, art and more.
