Survivors of the October fires, or anyone interested in the resources necessary for rebuilding and recovery in its wake, are invited to attend a workshop and resource fair on Saturday, July 28, in Oakmont.

Supervisor Susan Gorin will host the event, co-sponsored by the County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa. It is intended for fire survivors or residents to get information and resources to help navigate through the rebuild journey.

It will be an expo-style event where attendees have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with agencies and organizations that provide resources on permitting, landscaping and fire-safe plant choices, energy incentives, insurance and emergency preparedness.

There will be short panel presentations and discussions throughout the day with the participating organizations, including Permit Sonoma, City of Santa Rosa Permitting, United Policyholders, Sonoma Clean Power, Sonoma County Office of Energy and Sustainability, Sonoma Marin Water Saving Partnership, Sonoma Clean Power, California HOPE Crisis Counselors and others.

RSVP on Facebook at tinyurl.com/July28Rebuild to receive updates and have access to the panel schedule, or e-mail Gorin's field representative at arielle.kubu-jones@sonoma-county.org.

The Rebuilding Workshop and Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Berger Center, 6637 Oakmont Dr., Oakmont Village.
