The Sonoma State Historic Park is presenting a Junior Ranger program this summer at the Tuesday night farmers market.

Park Interpretive Specialist Kathy Wolcott is leading the activity-oriented program geared towards kids ages 7 to 12.

Junior Ranger programs will be offered at two Tuesday night markets in July:

On July 10, the topic will be Mission history, with crafts involving carding and spinning wool.

On July 24, the topic will be mammals with a focus on baby bats.

The Parks staff will also offer a campfire program from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, in the Sonoma Barracks Courtyard. There will be a short talk, songs and, of course, a marshmallow roast. All ages, free of charge, steady rain cancels.
