Woodland Star graduates 16 8th-graders

Woodland Star Charter School graduated its 16-student eighth-grade class on June 6.|

Woodland Star Charter School graduated its 16-student eighth-grade class on June 6.

The graduation ceremony featured student recollections of some of their favorite moments and songs during their tenure at Woodland Star which were both humorous and touching.

Administrator Sheila Reilly recognized all of the teachers who had contributed to the student’s learning experiences at Woodland Star and especially the contributions of graduating eighth-grade teacher, Nancy Cherniss.

Cherniss spoke about each student individually creating a poignant and inspiring picture of each of them, their challenges, successes and development throughout their years at Woodland Star.

The students will go onto a variety of high school settings including Sonoma Valley High, Credo – a Waldorf Inspired Charter High School, Sonoma Academy, Maria Carrillo and Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento.
