John McReynolds and Stone Edge Farm will host a book signing and celebration of his new cookbook, “Stone Edge Farm Kitchen Larder Cookbook,” on Thursday, March 21 at Edge on East Napa Street where he and his co-authors created many of the recipes in the book.

Returning to the basics of preserving foods has become fascinating to many, especially when we can grow our own or buy fresh and glorious local foods at farmers markets.

McReynolds is passionate about many food pursuits, from foraging to internationals cuisines, and preserving.

The book features photos of the Edge kitchen where McReynolds and his crew – Mike Emanuel and Fiorella Butron – have created all of the recipes in the book.

McReynolds was co-owner and chef at Café LaHaye for 10 years. Colby Eierman, Stone Edge organic gardener, also established the organic garden at Copia in Napa and contributes essays to the book.

Edge will serve appetizers and Stone Edge wine at the event where Readers’ Books will sell the books. McReynolds won the International Association of Culinary Professionals Book of the Year award and Julia Child Award for best first book for his “Stone Edge Farm Cookbook” in 2013. Event is free, book $35. 6:30. 139 E. Napa St., Sonoma. 935-6520.
