Sonoma Plein Air seeks Valley of Talent entries

Artists from Sonoma up through the Oakmont area are eligible to apply.|

Valley of Talent

When: 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4

Where: Sonoma Community Center

Cost: Free

Entries are being accepted through Friday, March 8 for the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation’s second annual Valley of Talent exhibition that will take place at the Sonoma Community Center on April 4.

Artists from Sonoma through the Oakmont area are eligible to apply. There is no entry fee and artists may email images of up to three artworks they would like to exhibit to info@sonomapleinair.com with the subject line “Art Show Entry” by Friday, March 8.

Artists can apply in the following categories: painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, photography or sculpture and all styles are welcome including abstract, figurative, still life or landscape. All art will be reviewed for exhibition by a panel of jurors from Sonoma Valley High School art faculty and the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation. If selected, artists agree to sell their work with 60 percent of the sale price going to the artist, 30 percent to Sonoma Plein Air Foundation to support art education in schools, and 10 percent to Sonoma Community Center to support community art programs.

Artists will be notified by March 21.

The Valley of Talent art show will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at the Sonoma Community Center. The event is part of the Sonoma Art Walk, and all works will be for sale.
