Sonoma master gardener: Tips for attracting bees

Sonoma’s Master Gardener Program presents Bee-Dazzled: An Introduction to Native Bees, at the Sonoma Valley Library at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19.

There are 1,600 species of native bees in California and many are in decline. These native species can be helped by turning landscapes into magnets for native bees and other pollinators.

The workshop, led by Sonoma gardener Janet Calhoon, will discuss the link between these insects and a healthy, thriving garden. The Bee-Dazzled workshop will also inform on how to create and care for native bee houses.

The event is free and open to all. The library is located at 755 W. Napa St.
