From 5 to 6:30 p.m., locals and visitors alike can say hello to Santa at the annual “Hot Chocolate with Santa” event on the Plaza, thanks to the local Soroptomists. Meet behind City Hall.
The Sonoma Sister Cities Association presents “Holidays Around the World” from 6 to 8 p.m. at Vintage House. The event showcases holiday traditions from a half-dozen different countries. The sixth annual Holiday Model Train Show will take place at the Depot Park Museum at 270 First St. W. The show is open weekends from noon to 4 p.m.

Holiday shopping from 40 local Sonoma artists at Sonoma Community Center’s annual Studio Sale. Ceramics, fiber, prints, jewelry to tableware to knit and woven clothing to prints and notecards, all handmade here in Sonoma. The preview reception is Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.; regular hours Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Christmas at the Mission San Francisco de Solano will be celebrated with two shows and a variety of events from 4 to 8 p.m. Themed “Holiday on the Northern Frontier,” the event will include traditional Christmas at the Mission (a ticketed event) as well as activities and music in the other downtown Sonoma historic buildings, open to all.
The Sonoma Hometown Band is performing a free holiday concert with the Napa Valley College Wind Ensemble at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Hanna Boys Center at 17000 Arnold Drive.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is hosting a free community Holiday Open House with cookie decorating, karaoke, tree decorating, photo booth, games and more from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 100 West Verano Ave.
Santa is coming to the Kenwood Fire Station at 10:30 a.m. today. 9045 Sonoma Highway.

“The Snow Maiden” ballet is on stage at 1 p.m. both days at the Sebastiani Theatre. Tickets are $12-$22. 476 First St. E.
