Sonoma students win photography awards

8 students honored in annual Texas contest|

Students of Sonoma Valley High School photography teacher Andy Mitchell brought home one first place and eight honorable mention prizes in the recent fall Association of Texas Photography Instructors fall contest. According to Mitchell, there were 7,420 entries from 99 schools across the country.

Rishi Clark won a first place award for a Beginner Travel shot. Jack Pier won first honorable mention for an Advanced Animal photo and honorable mention for an Advanced Landscape.

Jaymee Pearce won an honorable mention for a Beginner Studio Portrait.

Fatima Sanchez won a first honorable mention for a Beginner Informal Portrait.

Cole Jewell won an honorable mention for a Beginner Informal Portrait.

Kiley Cook won a first honorable mention for a Beginner Nature shot.

Zanett Velazquez won an honorable mention for a Beginner Nature shot.

Ryan Pfleger won an honorable mention for a Timed Exposure photo.
