Food: Are you Harvest Experienced?

Muscardini guides wine lovers through his world|

Michael Muscardini offers his second annual Harvest Experience on Saturday, Sept. 29 with a vineyard tour at Cassata Sonoma, a gorgeous site in Glen Ellen owned by Patricia Cassata. Cassata is also a member of Rural Chicks, a group of women farmers, vineyardists, ranchers, winemakers and others (including this writer).

After the wine club vineyard tour, the next stop will be at Deerfield Ranch Winery for a tour of the cave and barrel tasting where Muscardini makes his wine. Then attendees will return to the Muscardini tasting room in Kenwood for a vertical library tasting of cabernet sauvignon paired with a catered lunch by El Molino Central in Boyes Hot Springs.

The El Molino menu will include housemade chips and guacamole; El Molino cabbage salad; braised short ribs over lemon polenta with mole; and seasonal vegetable enchiladas with beans.

$95. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 9380 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood. Reservations via Karen Hannah at 933-9305 or wineclub@muscardinicellars.com.
