From the first of the 60-plus floats to the last boom and pop of the evening fireworks, Sonoma’s July 4 celebrations went off without a hitch. Despite an unseasonably cool day, thousands turned out for the morning parade, the afternoon Plaza party, a Sonoma Stompers home game and the annual fireworks show.

There is a good reason that Sonoma makes the list of the best places in American to celebrate Independence Day. [Photos by William Murray]
