Cookbooks, the ultimate ‘stuffers’

'Coming to My Senses' by Alice Waters would make a nice stocking stuffer for the foodie in the family.

Cookbooks are often safe last minute presents.

Topping the list of many year-end cookbook lists is “Unforgettable: The Bold Flavors of Paula Wolfert’s Renegade Life” – Emily Kaiser Thelin’s book about Sonoma-resident Wolfert , with a new foreword by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse.

Others that are popular at Readers’ Books on East Napa Street include “Coming to My Senses” by Alice Waters; “A Grandfather’s Lessons” written and illustrated by Jacques Pépin; “Market Cooking” by Chez Panisse chef David Tanis; “Salt Fat Acid Heat” by Samin Nosrat; “Milk Street” by Christopher Kimball; and “Smitten Kitchen Everyday” by Deb Perlman.

“Teens Cook” by Megan and Jill Carle, Food Network’s Ree Drummond’s “The Pioneer Woman,” anything by Ina Garten, and “Inspiralize” are all popular cookbooks at Sign of the Bear.
