Celebrating Sonoma’s Cindy Scarborough

Cynthia Scarborough, the longtime executive director of Vintage House in Sonoma who retired on June 30 of this year, will be honored at a reception held at Vintage House from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20.

The event, organized by friends of Scarborough and Vintage House, offers an opportunity to the members and supporters of Vintage House, and her friends and colleagues in the many senior advocacy organizations she collaborated with to gather in celebration of her remarkable leadership of Vintage House.

“In turn, the celebration also provides Cindy with the opportunity to give thanks to all who supported her vision and her passion and worked with her to make the remarkable evolution of Vintage House possible,” says Dina Smith, of Vintage House.

Scarborough started working at Vintage House in 1994 as one of only two staff members and was appointed executive director after only four years.

During her tenure and fueled by her passion for senior issues, Vintage House has grown into the highly regarded resource it is today. With a staff of nine and over 300 volunteers Vintage House offers over 60 regular and special programs year-round reaching almost 2000 individuals annually.

Along with her work to expand Vintage House services, Scarborough was also a strong advocate for seniors with coalitions in Sonoma Valley and beyond, including local health and leadership roundtables and countywide elder justice and transportation committees. RSVP is required by Oct. 13 to CCatVH@gmail.com or call 492-7855.
