Tips Roadside seeking grassroots menu

Upcoming eatery asks fans to vote on what restaurant will serve|

Susie and Andrew Pryfogle, who started out by retrofitting a trolley into a mobile tri-tip sandwich bar, are getting closer to opening Tips Roadside on Highway 12 in Kenwood, in the location where Vineyards Inn restaurant used to be.

Next weekend Tips fans will have a rare chance to try out some of Chef Thaddeus Palmese’s menu ideas for the stationary restaurant. You can sign up for 6 and 7:30 p.m. seatings on Friday or Saturday, Sept. 15 and 16 and for a Sunday Brunch tryout at 11 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. on Sept.17. All ages welcome, non-alcoholic beverages provided, all this served in a nearby vineyard.

Select the menu you want to try and vote upon. Friday ($35): roasted root vegetables and garlic brûlée, seared black cod with yams, Brussels sprouts, house bacon; plus caramelized banana with vanilla crème and a tuile cookie.

Saturday ($35) check out prosciutto wrapped shrimp, smoked tomato risotto and herb salad; smoked braised short rib with horseradish, blistered tomatoes and crispy leeks, with dessert of a Bourbon brownie with bacon crumble.

Sunday brunch ($25) consists of a grilled peach, burrata and arugula salad; eggs adobe with smoked ham, peppers, tomatillos, potatoes, toast and a spiced beignet.

8445 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood. Reserve via Eventbrite - Tips Test Kitchen in the vineyards.
