Restaurant month calls ahead to Sonoma

The Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau just announced the “Sonoma Valley Delicious” restaurant month for all of January.

The promotion joins 36 communities statewide in California Restaurant Month, presumably to attract diners to restaurants during the annual slow winter month of January, which is also the time when some Sonoma Valley restaurants close for remodels or spiff-ups. Visitors Bureau executive director Jonny Westom said in an email, “We are building on the success of the previous campaign, Olive Season, by aggregating local member deals and special promotions that are running Valley wide through the month of January.” The last “Season of the Olive,” a two-month event, ended last year.

While the Visitors Bureau was still gathering information at press time, the following deals are being offered according to the Visitors Bureau’s website: Chateau St. Jean charcuterie; MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa, $100 resort credit; Ramekins Culinary School, $20 prix fixe Pizza & Pinot; Larson Family Winery chocolate and wine pairing; Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn, $50 wine tasting coupon with booking; Schug Carneros Estate Winery, two for one tasting; Benziger Family Winery, two for one biodynamic tram tour; Corner 103 two for one cheese pairing; Kunde Family Winery two for one reserve tasting; Ceja Vineyards two for one tasting; Walt Wines two for one tasting; Glen Ellen Star, three courses for $36; St. Francis Winery six-course wine and food pairing; Grapeline Wine Tours, complimentary cheese plate at the Girl and the Fig; Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, free hot chocolate or tea; Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, free wine at 38 North Lounge; Chateau St. Jean, crab and chardonnay feast; Westwood Estate Wines, Double Gold Wine Flight; $10 off of Sonoma Food Tour tickets, and Carneros Bistro and Bar Liberty Duck Duo ($25) or cocktail.
