Cornerstone Sonoma is hosting a series of events for the community in the days leading up to Christmas.
First up, beginning Thursday, Dec. 1, the public is invited to celebrate the holidays with a “12 Days of Christmas” event. Every tenant at Cornerstone will be participating and the offerings will include special events, food and drink, holiday decorations, music and kids crafts.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, the annual Lighting of the Snowmen will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Now in its 12th year, the event has become a Sonoma Valley holiday tradition. The display will remain up through the end of December.
The event began in 2004 after David Allen, owner of Artefact Design & Salvage at Cornerstone, discovered hundreds of decorative snowmen at a factory in Boston. The factory, which manufactured the snowmen exclusively, was closing, and Allen decided to purchase the stock to use at the gardens. Each year since, the snowmen have been arranged into a creative and stunning scene that is different each year.
The Dec. 3 party will feature music, kids crafts, wine and beer tasting, warm drinks, food and holiday lights and decorations. Parking will be available at Cornerstone (until the lots are filled) and then at the Sonoma Valley Airport, located next to Cornerstone (shuttle service will be provided). Admission to the festival is free but there is a $10 charge for parking that day.
On Sunday, Dec. 4, Cornerstone will host Pets Lifeline’s Santa Paws event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Green Garden Barn.
