Premade Thanksgiving dinners in Sonoma

Sonoma’s got several pre-made Thanksgiving dinners that really deliver|

Some of us love to cook, some of us love not to cook, some of us love to go out to restaurants, some of us are lucky to be invited to other people’s homes, and some of us just want Thanksgiving dinner to come easy.

So here are some local easy ways to bring Turkey Day to your home. Plan two to three hours to reheat and prepare these meals.

Glen Ellen Star

Erinn and Ari Weisswasser’s Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant in downtown Glen Ellen has created a Thanksgiving dinner pick-up menu at $45 per person. You must order by Saturday, Nov. 19 by emailing reservations@glenellenstar.com. Sure to be excellent, the meal includes a mixed chicories salad with candied pecans, shaved persimmon, and Roquefort dressing; wood oven-roasted Brussels sprouts with brown sugar bacon marmalade; spatchcooked (butterflied) Willie Bird turkey with caramelized fingerling potatoes, chestnuts and gravy; toasted brioche stuffing with mushrooms and mirepoix (diced carrots, celery and herbs sautéed in butter); cranberry compote with maple syrup and orange zest; pumpkin pie, and vanilla maple bourbon ice cream. $45 per person, 8 people minimum. Sonoma Market and Glen Ellen Village Market

Sonoma Market has long offered complete holiday meals and delicious cranberry relishes, gravy, and pies. And every day you can get cooked turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables at the hot table.

Since Nugget Markets have taken over Sonoma Market and Glen Ellen Village Market they offer their “Holiday Meal & Sides Collections” at both stores, as well as at all Nugget stores, in case you want to take dinner to friends or relatives around northern California.

Prices range from $99.99 for turkey dinner for four to six, or $169.99 to serve eight to 10 people. All dinners include a fully cooked oven-roasted Diestel turkey, housemade traditional or cornbread sausage stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, yams or sweet potatoes, green beans almandine or green bean casserole, cranberry Mandarin orange relish or brandied cranberries, turkey or organic mushroom gravy, and butter and egg or whole what rolls.

You can also purchase the small “sides collection” to serve four to six for $69.99, or the large version to serve eight to 10 for $99.99.

Whole Foods Sonoma

Whole Foods offers a traditional turkey dinner for eight that includes a fully cooked oven-roasted Diestel turkey (10 pounds), four pounds herb stuffing and mashed potatoes, a quart of turkey gravy, a pint of cranberry relish, 16 dinner rolls, and a nine-inch pumpkin pie for $99.99.

The same dinner with an organic Diestel turkey that serves eight costs $159.99. A large heirloom turkey dinner to serve 12 adds a 16-pound Diestel organic heirloom turkey, a pumpkin pie and a cranberry apple pie for $289.99.

Safeway Sonoma

Safeway’s traditional Thanksgiving dinner comes in at $49.99 and serves six to eight people for a fully-cooked 10-12 pound turkey or a four to five pound turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, 12 Hawaiian rolls and an eight-inch pumpkin pie.

Safeway also offers ham and prime rib dinners for the family with either a seven to nine pound spiral ham ($59.99), or a prime rib roast at $79.99. Both include scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, 12 Hawaiian rolls, and an eight-inch pumpkin pie.
