For those of us who have lost track of days and dates, Memorial Day is Monday, May 25 - that’s this coming Monday. And a few restaurants are offering Memorial Day home-grilling kits.

Glen Ellen Star

Ari Weisswasser of Glen Ellen Star was first off the starting blocks with his simple Memorial Day grill kit available for pickup on Sunday, May 24 from noon to 4 p.m. $20 per person.

The kit, which might be handy for people who shouldn’t or don’t want to shop in grocery stores, includes a kit of Wagyu burger meat with “everything bun,” aioli, cheddar cheese, lettuce, caramelized Vidalia onion, and bacon marmalade; the makings for Mexican street-style corn on the cob with mayo, cotija cheese, chipotle and lime; vanilla maple bourbon ice cream, and $10 extra for two pieces of chocolate cream pie with Oreo crust and brandied cherries. They are throwing in a free can of Kombucha from Soul Fixx Kombucha of Healdsburg. Order through Saturday at glenellenstar.com or 343-1384. 13648 Arnold Drive, Glen Ellen.

It includes a “bundle for backyard barbecues, (without food)” whether you order a kit somewhere or shop on your own, or just ignore the whole thing and love good wine.

Their bundle includes their 2018 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 2019 Vin Gris of Pinot Noir, and a 2017 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. All are available for curbside pickup. ($145 total). Order at sangiacomowines.com or 934-8445. 21545 Broadway, Sonoma.
