Film: ‘Tiny Vineyards,’ big screen

For those looking for an alternative ‘once in a lifetime’ event.|

Ken Wornick, longtime supporter of the Sonoma International Film Festival and major-domo of his Hydeout estate and vineyards off Hyde Road, will host an outdoor, under-the-stars screening of “Stop Making Sense,” Jonathan Demme’s acclaimed 1984 Talking Heads concert film, to benefit SIFF. The event was almost sold out at press time, however.

But Wornick is also sponsoring a new screening of Joe Daniel’s “Tiny Vineyards” on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Sebastiani Theatre. The film features several Sonoma home winemakers, including the Adele Harrison Middle School vineyard (a gift of Larson Family Winery), as well as Wornick himself and his growing and winemaking consulting business, Hydeout Sonoma Consulting.

Home winemakers will pour their wines, reportedly made during the filming, after the screening. $11. 7 p.m. Tickets at Sebastiani Theatre.
