Local actors have been celebrating the coming of St. Patrick’s Day for many years by staging an Irish theater event in the back room at Murphy’s Irish Pub.

The tradition began under the leadership of Rose Murphy and subsequently the back-room annex was renamed the Rose Murphy Center for the Performing Arts.

This year a pair of one-act plays will be featured: “Power of Persuasion” by Todd Evans, and “Tremble” by Kerric Harvey.

The shows will be staged at 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday night, March 10 and 11. The dinner theater tickets are $35 and include a two-course meal and the show.

Sunday is already sold out. For tickets for Monday, call Margarita at (415) 328-5056 or visit the pub.
