Beer ‘n’ Brats
Cold beer and hot brats make for a nice wine country weekend. Throw in a good cause, and you’ve got a real winner. Sonoma Springs Brewery has a few kegs of a super-limited release Sotille Red on tap, and you’ll want a fresh pint pulled before it’s all gone. Proceeds benefit the volunteer firefighters who help keep us all safe, so go ahead and binge cold, delicious liquid carbs all day long. It’s philanthropy.
Saturday, Nov. 10, 1-6 p.m., Sonoma Springs Brewery, 19449 Riverside Drive, sonomaspringsbrewing.com, free
Ho-Ho-Howz That Made?
What if Christmas doesn’t really come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more? What if handmade and old fashioned were a new kind of tech? What if making and giving was better than “get”? At the Vallejo Home this weekend, 10 craft stations will be ready to keep little hands busy, with sweet projects that hark back to less complicated times.
Saturday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Vallejo Home, Sonoma State Historic Park, 363 Third St. W., $3
Art and Resilience
If we’re being honest, it’s been a rough year. We’ve all needed grit and tenacity to get through it. Resilience is learned, it’s a conscious choice. Who better to prove that than artists who lost their homes last October and continue to make art, for its sake and their own? Two artists, two poets, and a team of trauma care specialists will discuss how to keep moving forward when the going gets tough.
Saturday, Nov. 10, 3 p.m., Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, 551 Broadway, svma.org, $0-10
Audio Angel and M-Tet are in town, and ready to funk you up at the Starling Bar. That’s the classy lil’ spot at the end of West Spain, where the cocktails are chi chi and the clientele chill. Add in the sweet heat of R&B funk, and your Saturday night will be more than alright. No, not for fighting, Elton. This isn’t that kind of town. But happy rump shakin’ on a full tank? Absolutely.
Saturday, Nov. 10, 8:30-11:30 p.m., Starling Bar, 19380 Sonoma Highway, email@example.com, $7
