‘Monterey Pop’ to screen in Sonoma

“Monterey Pop,” the biggest music festival until Woodstock, is the subject of the 1968 film of the same name. The film will screen at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, as part of the Sebastiani Theatre’s ongoing vintage film series. The concert film includes performances by Big Brother and the Holding Company; Otis Redding; Jimi Hendrix; Ravi Shankar; Mamas and the Pappas; Simon and Garfunkel; the Who; Canned Heat; Jefferson Airplane; the Animals; Booker T and the MG’s; and Country Joe and the Fish.

Tickets are $10 at the door.
