Brad Paisley and Bonnie Hunt headline benefit event on Aug 3, 4

Acoustic and spoken word event for recovery|

Brad Paisley and Bonnie Hunt will headline “Thicker than Smoke,” a weekend of fire recovery events at Sonoma State University.

Sonoma County teacher and author Brandon Spars will kick off the event by hosting an evening of storytelling on Friday evening, Aug. 3, at the Green Music Center’s Weill Hall. At least 10 local speakers will share their tales of survival and overcoming adversity following the firestorm.

The next night, Paisley and Hunt take over to host an acoustic concert at Weill Hall and on its outdoor lawn that will incorporate local stories.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 6.

Two hundred free tickets will be made available to first responders and others who suffered losses as a result of the fires. Contact the Box Office at tickets@sonoma.edu to request tickets.
