Sonoma Valley Chorale will celebrate the composer with their performance of “Sounds of Paradise: Requiem by Gabriel Fauré.”
The Chorale will be joined by a full orchestra of local musicians to celebrate the work of French Romantic composer Fauré. Works will include his “Requiem,” along with “Pavane” and “Cantique de Jean Racine.” Concert dates are Saturday, May 19, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, May 20, at 3 p.m. Both concerts will be at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 16290 Arnold Drive.
The concert will feature solos from local singers soprano Natalie Moon-Wainwright, alto Ruth E. Wells and baritone Skye Thompson.
The Sonoma Valley Chorale, which has performed as a community chorus since 1973, is led by artistic director David Irvine. The Chorale welcomes all singers – no auditions required – to participate in its concerts.
Tickets for adults are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Seniors and students are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Kids under 12 are free with a ticketed adult.
