Longtime Sonoma County resident to read from “The Road to Find Out,” his sequel to “Falling Upstate.”|

Local novelist Will Shonbrun reads from his latest work, “The Road to Find Out,” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11 at Readers’ Books in Sonoma.

How do you start over when you’ve hit rock bottom? Where do you pick up the pieces and jump back in?

In this sequel to “Falling Upstate,” Bobby Stein seeks a way forward through the radically changing world of the 1970s. His journey takes him to communes, ashrams and into the arms of intriguing women, all the while rejecting the old ways and discovering new ones.

Shonbrun has published a newsletter, the Sonoma Valley Voice, covering political, social justice and environmental issues. He co-founded the North Bay Progressive Newspaper (2000-2005). This is his second work of fiction.

“The Road to Find Out” is available at Readers’ Books.
