The Sebastiani Theatre will usher in the new year with Will Durst and his “Big Fat Year-End Kiss Off Comedy Show” on Thursday, Jan. 4.

For the 25th consecutive year, Will Durst and his merry band of pranksters will bring laughter to Sonoma. The show features the comedy of Will Durst, Debi Durst, Johnny Steele, Michael Bossier, Mari Magalone and Arthur Gaus – a boisterous troupe who say they plan to “lampoon, satirize, mock, scoff, scorn, taunt, tease, rib and ridicule the people and events of the past year and do it with a modicum of taste and decorum. Or sometimes not.”

This 25th edition of the “Big Fat Year-End Kiss Off Comedy Show” features a collection of skits, songs, sketches and stand-up, all based on the “wacky zany antics that occurred during the calendar year of 2017.” According to a press announcement on the show, “Some annums are less conducive as objects of ‘humourosity,’ but this one provided the veritable cornucopia of delights with Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway, Kim Jong Un, hurricanes and other natural and not-so-natural disasters and, for all we know, an actual Sharknado.”

“It was lush like a tropical rainforest, providing enough grist for the comedic mill to fill six two-hour shows,” says Durst. “Although we will do but one – cherry-picking all the best material.”

The show begins at 7 p.m. on Jan 4. General seating tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at or in Sonoma at Readers’ Books or by calling the Sebastiani Theatre at 996-9756.
