Transcendence Theater co-founder Stephan Stubbins and his wife, Libby Servais, join Broadway friends in a song-filled live stream tribute to mothers. A percentage of proceeds will benefit Transcendence Theatre Company and the Bridge the Generations nonprofit.

The show, “Libby & Stephan Live: Songs, Laughs, and Smiles for Mother’s Day,” will broadcast live from the couple’s living room on Saturday, May 9. Taking place on Mother’s Day eve, the show will feature performers who have appeared on Broadway, including Jared Bradshaw (“Jersey Boys”), Desirée Davar (“West Side Story”), Nicolas Dromard (“Jersey Boys”), Lexy Fridell (“Avenue Q”), Leslie McDonel (“American Idiot”), Lindsay Northen (“Wicked”), Q Smith (“Come From Away”), and Lawrence Stallings (“The Book of Mormon”).

Stubbins co-founded and formerly ran Transcendence Theatre Company and its “Broadway Under the Stars” concert series. Servais and Stubbins met performing in “Broadway Under the Stars” together in 2013, fell in love, and married in 2019.

“This special live performance is meant to bring a smile, a laugh, and a sense of connection to our friends across the country on a weekend when we’re used to being together,” said Stubbins.

“In addition to the performance, one of my favorite elements of the evening is the ability for our community to chat with each other live and reconnect online throughout the show.”

Viewers are encouraged to send in a favorite picture of them with their mother in advance of the performance, to LibbyAndStephan@gmail.com. Thirty minutes before the performance begins, a selection of pictures from viewers will be highlighted.

Ten percent of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to two nonprofits: Transcendence Theatre Company and Bridge the Generations. Transcendence is a Sonoma-based arts nonprofit that, during the shelter-in-place period, provides free online arts education for kids and families. Bridge the Generations is a national nonprofit organization that has been connecting artists with senior citizens - reaching over 1,500 seniors with personalized performances and artist residencies, carried out by artists from Broadway, Nashville, L.A.,and beyond.

The performance begins online at 5 p.m., with viewer photos highlighted 30 minutes before showtime, and an opportunity for questions, answers, and shared moments shortly after the performance.

The show will be live-streamed on a private YouTube link sent to attendees, who are encouraged to “pay what you wish.” BroadwayInLove.com.
