Sonoma Floor Gallery will open Sonoma Valley’s first-ever slab warehouse called Sonoma Surfaces next week. The 5,000-square-foot warehouse is located on Eighth Street East.

Lisa Lanning and David Raffo, owners of Sonoma Floor Gallery at 551 Fifth St. W., have partnered with a granite, quartz, quartzite and marble importer who has been supplying counter slabs to the West Coast for more than 30 years.

The Raffos are inviting contractors, designers, architects and potential clients to an open house trade event from 4 to 7 p.m. on March 28 and they plan for signs to be up and Sonoma Surfaces to be open to the public by the end of next week.

The couple founded Raffo’s Hardwood Floors in 2000. She and David changed the company name to Sonoma Floor Gallery when they expanded its product line to include tile, carpet, area rugs and window coverings. The company moved from Highway 12 to 551 Fifth St. W. in 2017.

Lisa was born and raised in Sonoma and graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 1984. She said she is excited to bring something new to her hometown.

“Sonoma has never had a slab yard before,” she said. “In the past, people had to go to the East Bay or to Santa Rosa to pick out their slabs and so this is great, people can touch and see the stone in person right here.”

Sonoma Surfaces is located at 19652B Eighth St. E. For hours and to make an appointment, call 939-1940.
